About Us
Our Mission
Bright Star Foundation, Inc. is a Massachusetts non-profit corporation committed to contributing to the well-being of those affected by illness or physical impairment who cannot afford private home health care. Our mission is to help each person achieve their maximal potential in life, regardless of their age, socio-economic status, or physical abilities. Our staff and volunteers provide the momentum to create real, life-changing solutions to the lack of affordable elderly health care in America.
Our History
While discussing what to name our foundation, we were reminded of how our teacher used to address her students as "Shining Stars." Mrs. Cohen always wore stars as jewelry and decorated her classroom with stars. Each of her students had their own star with their name written on it. We felt the name "Bright Star Foundation" was perfect for what we sought out to accomplish: helping others find the star within themselves.
Identifying the need for energetic, community-driven work in our hometown, we developed Bright Star Foundation to tailor to underserved populations on the North Shore. Since the beginning, we have constantly evolved and adapted our organization to provide a variety of services. We've consistently grown since then, all thanks to our amazing supporters and tireless leadership team!
Our Team
Bright Star Foundation was founded by two teenagers with a vision and a strong desire to help those in need. We now provide daily services tailored towards individuals with disabilities to hundreds of people in Massachusetts and Florida. We are always looking for motivated employees and volunteers, especially Spanish speaking people, to join our team. Think you would be a good fit? Email us for more information!
